I Am So Blessed!

OMG - I can't believe it!  This tree in my backyard fell/broken after the storm we just had a week ago in the Washington, DC area.  I am so thankful that it didn't fall on my house, it fell the opposite way.

The only problem is now, I have to pay to get it removed, which I know it's going to be expensive.  I am so blessed that it didn't fall on my house but I am not looking forward to paying the price to get it removed.  Here are some pictures so you'll can see what I have to deal with, it is not a pretty picture.  If you know somebody who removes trees at a reasonable price, let me know.  I would appreciate it!

Thank you and God Bless!

A Winning Goal

What goals do you want to achieve?  What's most important to you?  What dreams have you written down on paper and desire to come true?  Goal setting is very important.  When setting goals, always make sure to set attainable goals and set goals that are realistic and measurable.

Share your goals with those that demonstrate a supportive attitude towards your goals.  Negative attitudes from friends, family and co-workers can discourage you quickly.  God's Word tells us to encourage ourselves, so be your cheerleader.

It is important to review your goals daily and write your them down.  Post them or write them in a visible area and read your goals list each morning.  Visualize the completed goal, see yourself successful, see your new car and picture the island you will spend your vacation on.  By engaging in visualization, you start both your subconscious and conscious mind on working towards the goal.  By faith you will achieve your goals if you can believe it, if you can perceive it, then you can achieve it.

What goals have you made today?

Hope you have a good weekend everyone!

My Birthday Celebration

Yesterday was an awesome day!  My significant other took me to the Bonefish Grill restaurant in Gaithersburg, MD for my birthday.  OMG!  The food was really delicious, service was great and we were surprised when we saw the prices, not bad at all, very reasonable.  My friend John, also treated me to a nice facial at the CLIN-Spa, which was also in Gaithersburg, MD and that was awesome as well.  I think I will start getting more facials for now on.  At the restaurant, I had Lily's Norwegian Salmon, Herb Jasmine Rice, a Blueberry Martini and we shared the Bang, Bang Shrimp and the desert Jamaican Coconut Pie.  John had gotten the Corn and Crab Chowder soup, the Mussels Josephine and a Blueberry Martini.  Personally, I think mussels are some nasty things, they look like oysters but as long as he enjoyed them, that's what really matters.  I like to share some pictures of some of the food we ate at the restaurant; it might make your month watery.  Can't wait to go back again!

I'm going to post some pictures of my jewelry in a couple of days, so look out for those.  Take care and have a good day!

Thank You!
Juanita

Too Much Snow For Me

The Good, the Bad and the Not So Ugly! It has been snowing here so much in the Washington Metropolitan area. I don’t know if I should be happy or sad. It’s a thin line between love and hate; it’s the bitter with the sweet. At the beginning, the snow is so white and pretty but when it’s all said and done, it is not pretty trying to dig yourself out of it. Like your car for instant! For the past two days, I have been digging out my car that I don’t think I have ever shuffled so much snow in my entire life. The snow started on Friday, Feb. 5 just a little before noon and didn’t end until Saturday, Feb. 6 at around 6pm ending with almost 30 inches. By Friday night, it was already at least 7 to 8 inches.

I am surprised at my dog Rocky; I think he is starting to enjoy the snow, because usually when I take him out for his walk he doesn’t want to stay long. He is always ready to run back in the house after about 5 minutes.

It has been snow on top of snow on top of snow. It’s unbelievable! I thought I would share some pictures of me trying to dig my car out and so you can see how much snow we got. Also, some pictures of my dog Rocky enjoying the snow. I like the snow but this is just a little bit too much for me and I am so ready for spring.

P.S. – I am so excited! I have been business working on my jewelry website which will be coming soon. All I need to do now is upload my pictures and then I will be launching it.  Take care and have a great weekend.

Happy Labor Day Everyone!

Wow! It is September already, summer is almost over, fall is coming and winter will be here soon and I am not looking forward to it. Does anyone hate winter like I do? Winter is no fun and it’s boring! I hate going out into the winter cold. You have to wear winter cloths and coats, you have to warm up your car, sit on cold seats, shuffle the snow off your car and sidewalk, and you have to get out of your warm bed. Everything is just cold! All I can say is drink some hot cocoa, hot tea and try to stay warm.

The year has gone by so fast, in 3 to 4 months Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here soon. Speaking of Christmas, I need to start making more handmade jewelry and start preparing for craft shows and festivals. This means, I need to get busy.

When you are working a full-time job and trying to manage your business, there is not enough time in the day to get everything you want done. One day I hope to be able to work on my business only. Well let me get back to work and please check back often for new jewelry updates. Have a great day everyone and enjoy. Will talk to you soon! Remember you can check out my jewelry on http://www.stone-essence.artfire.com/

Quote of the Month

Nobody knows what you want except you and nobody will be as sorry as you if you don’t get it. Wanting some other way to live is proof enough of deserving it. Having it is hard work, but not having it is sheer hell.
